Angels
Continuing the collaboration of Chuck Fischer and paper engineer, Bruce Foster, Angels is the upcoming new October release from Little, Brown and Hachette Books. Angels is a 9 spread book, 6 with major pop-ups, that details the history of angel lore as told through art and literature. From the ancient roots of modern angels (in the spread titled Origins), through pivotal stories of angels in the Old and New Testaments as well as the Koran (Daniel, Michael and Gabriel), and secular depictions of angels (Zodiac and the Raphael-like Musical Angels), Chuck, Bruce and writer Curtis Flowers present angels through time and diverse cultures. Angels is a tour de force celebration of these celestial beings…just in time for the holidays and sure to be a treasured gift.
- Springing from the pages of history, Angels appear throughout cultures around the world.
- The Archangel Michael fighting the dragon.
- The Archangel Gabriel delivering the Annunciation to the Virgin Mary.
- Daniel is saved by an angel in the lions’ den.
- Angels have been assigned to the various houses of the Zodiac.
- In a modern (post Renaissance) view of angels, a celestial choir sings and plays musical instruments from above.
