Visionaire 55 Surprise
Visionaire is a remarkable enterprise. Besides regular issues of V and V-man, high quality fashion and culture magazines, periodically the (very!) creative staff at Visionaire will issue limited edition projects. There really is no way to describe in a few words the incredible diversity of experiments in communication that they accomplish! Your best bet is to visit them for yourself to explore their current and past issues: www.visionaireworld.com
I was privileged to be asked to translate the works of eleven of the world’s most creative artists and photographers into a special boxed edition of Visionaire, subtitled, 55: Surprise. You will see works by artists Cai Guo-Qiang, Guido Mocafico, Sophie Calle, Steven Klein, Mario Testino, Yayoi Kusama, Gareth Pugh, Stephen Meisel, Solve Sundsbo, Alasdair McLellan, and Andreas Gursky, all transformed into a three dimensional or movable art form.
Presently there is an exhibition on display at Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library at Yale University that features Visionaire 55 Surprise. The show will be up until June 30 if you are in the area!
